Pauline (Polly) Underwood;84;of 220 Roberts St.;Belle Vernon;died Tuesday;July 8;1980;at 12:15 p.m.in Beallsville. Born May 10;1896 in Carroll Twp.;she was the daughter of the late William F.and Elizabeth Hough Williams. She had been a Belle Vernon resident for the past 17 years. Mrs.Underwood was a member of the Episcopal Church and the Monessen Eastern Star. She was preceded in death by her husband;Thomas;on Dec.31;1968. Survivors include a son;Thomas A.Underwood of Forest Hills;two daughters;Mrs.James (Nancy) Hathaway;with whom she resided;and Mrs.Charles (Jean) Zemany of California;seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Friends will be received in the Shelby D.Ferguson Funeral Home;700 Broad Ave.;Belle Vernon;Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.;and Thursday before services at 1 p.m.at the funeral home. The Rev.Roy C.Myers;rector of Christ Episcopal Church;Brownsville;will officiate. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
