Paul Simpson;aged 73 years;of 943 Oakland avenue;Charleroi; died in Torrance State hospital at 1:30 a.m.on Sunday;December 14;1941. Mr.Simpson;who was born in Rockfish;Va.on January 22;1868;was a well known negro resident of this community coming to Charleroi 48 years ago. He was a coal miner until his health failed. The deceased;a son of the late George Simpson and Netta Woods Simpson;also born in Virginia;was a member of St.James A.M.E.Church of Charleroi. He leaves two sons;Edward and Kenneth at home;three daughters;Mrs.Nina Stokes at home;Mrs.Lillian McMillen of Cleveland;Ohio and Mrs.Helen Rameriz of Monessen;one brother;Moses Simpson of Rockfish;Va;eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Remains may be viewed at the Lawrence B.Frye Funeral Home until Tuesday morning when they will be taken to the late home. On Wednesday the body will be returned to the funeral home for services that afternoon at 2 o’clock in charge of Rev.Joseph Walker Storm;formerly of Charleroi. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Lawrence B.Frye is the funeral director.
