Paul Kostelac,82,of Fairhope,Belle Vernon,died Saturday,July 29,1989,at 2:07 a.m. in Mon Valley Hospital,Carroll Township,after a lengthy illness. Mr. Kostelac was born Oct. 28,1906,in Washington Township,Fayette County,a son of the late Anton and Katherine Kostelac. He was retired as a checker and fork lift operator for the former Fox Grocery Company. Mr. Kostelac was a member of Holy Spirit Roman Catholic Church,Fayette City,and the Croatian Fraternal Union Cokeburg Lodge No.354.In addition to his parents,he was also preceded in death by one son, George P.Kostelac,who died in 1974,and by a daughter,Emily J. Kostelac,who died in 1943. Surviving are his wife,Zora Shelby Kostelac,of Fairhope,Belle Vernon;four sons,Charles P.Kostelac of Columbus,Ga.,Reginald A. Kostelac of Fallowfield Township,Kenneth L. Kostelac of Fairhope,Belle Vernon,and Shelby L. Kostelac of Monongahela;two daughters,Mrs. Louis (Zora L.) Tiernan of Fairhope,Belle Vernon,and Mrs. Alice P. Reday of Mechanicsburg,Pa.;22 grandchildren;eight great-grandchildren;two brothers,Ralph Kostelac of Miami,Fla. and Edward Kostelac of Pittsburgh;and one sister,Mrs. Betty Fredrick of Fairhope,Belle Vernon. Friends will be received in the Howard W. McCrory Funeral Home,Fayette City,on Sunday from noon to 4 p.m.and 7 to 9 p.m.,Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.and on Tuesday until 9:30 a.m.,the hour of a Prayer service in the funeral home. A 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial will follow in Holy Spirit Roman Catholic Church,Fayette City,with the Rev. Thomas G. Rinn,pastor,as celebrant. Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. A Parish Wake service will be held Monday at 7:30 p.m. in the funeral home. The Howard W. McCrory Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
