Paul J. Melvin of 382 Ella St.,Belle Vernon,died Saturday,Aug. 9,1980,at 12:15 p.m. in Mon Valley Hosptial. Mr. Melvin was 71. He was born Aug. 2,1909,in Pittsburgh,a son of the late Thomas and Catherine Hennesy Melvin,Sr. A U.S. Navy veteran of World War II,Mr. Melvin was retired in 1975 from the Coke Plant of Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corporation's Monessen Works. He had lived in Belle Vernon the past 30 years. Mr. Melvin was a member of St. Sebastian R.C.Church and the American Legion, both of Belle Vernon. Friends will be received at the Shelby D. Ferguson Funeral Home,700 Broad Ave.,Belle Vernon,Monday,from 7 to 9 p.m.and Tuesday,from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. A Blessing Service will be held in the funarel home Wednseday at 9:30 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Sebastian R.C.Church,Belle Vernon. Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The Shelby D. Ferguson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
