Obituary

Paul J. Stanko,63,of 320 Schoonmaker Ave.,Monessen,died Tuesday, Nov. 5,1991,at 12:17 a.m. in Mon Valley Hospital Inc.,Carroll Township. Born Nov. 5,1928,in Fayette City, he was the son of the late John and Mary Geregash Stanko.  Mr. Stanko lived in Monessen the past 20 years,having formerly resided in Fairhope.  He retired in 1989 from the Allenport plant of Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corp. A veteran of World War II, he was a member of the Eagles,Polish Club,Slovak Home and Firemen's Club, all of Monessen.  In addition to his parents,he was preceded in death by four brothers, Edward,Fred,John and Charles Stanko. Surviving are his wife, Betty Staley Stanko; one son,Paul J. Stako Jr.;four daughters, Zena Stanko,Paula Stanko of Jacksonville, Fla., Ernestine Norelli of Belle Vernon R.D.1 and Martha Usher of Belle Vernon; seven grandchildren;one brother, George Stanko of Brownstown and one sister,Mary Males of Belle Vernon R.D.5. Friends will be received Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the Ferguson Funeral Home Inc.,700 Broad Ave.,Belle Vernon. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in the funeral home with Pastor Frank DePolo of Covenant Christian Church, Belle Vernon,offciating.  Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery.  The Ferguson Funeral Home Inc. is in charge of arrangements.
