Obituary

Paul J. Mica, 68, of Smithton R.D.I, died Sunday, April 6, 1997, at 6:05 p.m. in Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh, following a lingering illness. Born March 3, 1929, in Monessen, he was the son of the late Paul and Elizabeth Matash Mica. Mr. Mica resided in Smithton the past 27 years and formerly resided in the Mon Valley area. He was a member of Holy Resurrection Orthodox Church,Belle Vernon,and the church choir. He was a retired crane operator for U.S.Steel,McKeesport plant,and was also formerly employed at Page American Chain and Cable Company,Monessen. He was a farmer in the Smithton area. In addition to his parents,he was preceded in death by a brother,Joseph Sepeiak,and a sister Barbara Mica,who died in infancy. Surviving are his wife,Mariann Skurkay Mica,one son,Paul J.Mica of Omaha,Neb.,two daughters,Rachael Mica of Bridgeville and Mrs.James (Elizabeth) Saul of Smithton,one sister,Mary Cuprik of Euclid,Ohio,and three grandchildren,James Saul and Sarah and Paul Jacob Mica. Friends will be received Monday from 7 to 9 p.m.and Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.in the Leonard J.Parzynski Funeral Home,626 Broad Ave.,Belle Vernon. Relatives and friends will gather Wednesday at 9:30 a.m.in Holy Resurrection Orthodox Church,Mary Street,Belle Vernon,for funeral services with the Rev.John Kluchko,pastor,officiating. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery. A Parastas service will be held Tuesday at 8 p.m.in the funeral home. Arrangements are being handled by the Leonard J.Parzynski Funeral Home.
