Obituary

Paul A. Bozella, 74, of Cresson, passed away Wednesday at home. He was born in Gallitzin, son of the late Alfred P. and Alice O. (Kosko) Bozella.

Surviving are his wife, Devorah (Trembach) Bozella, to whom he was married for 52 years; and children: Paul David (Tara), Matthew and Kristin (Cory) Mickle; grandchildren: Jack, Kate, Maria, Matthew, David, Matty, Kaelyn, Londyn and Alec. He is also survived by brothers, Ralph P. (Susan) Bozella and Alfred P. Jr. (Janet) Bozella; and mother-in-law, Grace Trembach.

Paul Bozella started his career at Conrail in the Train Department and the Bridge and Building Department. He was a genuine, happy person who brought out the good in everyone and everything. His many friends knew him as “Paulie,” and to them he was a kind person and greatly respected.

He then taught for 30 years as a reading teacher at Claysburg Kimmel School District. Paul taught hundreds of students who, even to this day, express the impact that Mr. Bozella had on their lives. He was a respected teacher and faculty member whose kindness reached the hearts of everyone in the school and community.

Paul enjoyed walking by himself every day to the Old Portage Railroad and back, and he would walk with his wife Dev around the neighborhood in the evenings. Paul was a devoted father and grandfather, and as much as he loved watching his grandkids play sports, he loved coloring, painting and reading with them just the same. Paul was the strength in every aspect of his family’s life: physical, mental and spiritual, and he will always be remembered.

Friends will be received from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday, Nov. 17, 2025, at Gibbons-Houser Funeral Home, 301 Church St., Gallitzin.

A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 18, 2025, at the funeral home, with the Rev. Albert Ledoux officiating. Interment at Belle Vernon Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Alzheimer’s Foundation of America in Paul’s memory.
