Obituary

Patricia A. Galayda, 80, of Belle Vernon, passed away Monday, Nov. 17, 2014, in her home. A daughter of the late Gustave and Beatrice Rodgers Leclercq, she was born in Charleroi on July 28, 1934. A member of the United Methodist Church of Monessen, she had been very active in all church functions including crafts and cooking ravioli, perogies, soups and jams. She was also an active member of the Monessen Eagles, played cards with the ladies and planned reunions for her class, Monessen Class of 1952. For 18 years, she was a hostess and cashier for the Belle Vernon Kmart Restaurant, retiring in 1997. Survivors include three daughters and sons-in-law, Debby and Dennis Bernard of Belle Vernon, Sandy and Larry Wilson and Tish and Mark Matush, all of Fayette City; two sons and one daughter-in-law, John S. and Bonnie Galayda and Rob Galayda, all of Belle Vernon; one sister, Betty Keller, formerly of Fayette City; seven grandchildren, Amy Matush, and her husband, William, Jack Smith, Craig Wilson and his wife, Brie, Lisa Quattro and her husband, James, J.J. Galayda, Lara Jones and her husband, Dylan, and Mandi Wilson; and seven great-grandchildren, Lacey, Coby and Bailey Matush, Jeremiah and Noah Quattro, Jorden Galayda and Blake Wilson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, John S. Galayda on April 29, 2010; one sister, Marie Matta; and two brothers, Glenn and Robert Leclercq. Friends will be received 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday in the FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY, INC., 700 Broad Avenue, Belle Vernon, 724-929-5300, http://www.FergusonFuneralHomeAndCrematory.com. Funeral services will be in the funeral home at 10 a.m. Thursday with the Rev. Ken Jones officiating. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
