Obituary

Oscar Sands,49,of 1380 Fayette Ave.,Fairhope,died suddenly of a heart attack Sunday,March 12,1967,at 7:03 p.m.at the Fairhope Rod and Gun Club. He was born in Naomi,April 1,1917,the son of Oscar and Olga Kalm Sands. He was a member of the Fairhope Rod and Gun Club,and was a veteran of World War II,serving with the U.S.Marines. He was a member of Brightwell-Daugherty American Legion Post 484,Fayette City. He was employed at the Monessen plant of Pittsburgh Steel Co. Survivors are his widow,Carolyn Sands,one son,David,one daughter,Barbara,both at home,one brother,Leo of Naomi,four sisters,Mrs.John (Vilma) Mackey and Mrs.Felix (Irene) Daniels,both of Belle Vernon,Mrs.Helen Culpepper,Porstmouth,Va.,and Jane at home. Friends will be received at the Howard W.McCrory Funeral Home,Fayette City,after 7 p.m.Monday. Funeral services will be held there Thursday,March 16,at 1:30 p.m.in charge of the Rev.Ronald N.Johnson of the Lynnwood Lutheran Church. Interment,Belle Vernon Cemetery. Howard W.McCrory of Fayette City is the funeral director.
