Obituary

Oscar A.Austin,66,of 239 Shawnee St.,Monessen,died Thursday,Jan.25,1996,in Mon Valley Hospital,Carroll Township. Born April 20,1929,in Brownsville,he was the son of Franklin and Josephine Hess Austin,who survive. Mr.Austin was employed at the Clairton Works of U.S.Steel Corp. He was a member of Epiphany of Our Lord Roman Catholic Church,Monessen. A U.S.Army veteran,he served with the 101st Airborne Division during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of American Legion Post 659,Belle Vernon. In addition to his parents,he is survived by his wife,Jennie Perozzi Austin,two sons and daughters-in-law,Franklin L.and Cheryl Austin of Louisville,Ky.,and Albert O.and Deneen Austin of Monessen, one daughter,Mrs.Jonathan (Linda) Baker of Belle Vernon,seven grandchildren,two brothers,Franklin Austin of Grindstone and Richard Austin of Cleveland,Ohio,and a sister,Vivian Thomas of Blainesburg. Friends will be received Saturday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.and Sunday from 1 to 5 p.m.in the Rhome Funeral Home Inc.,1209 Grand Blvd.,Monessen,where prayers will be said Monday at 9:30 a.m.,followed by Mass at 10 a.m.in Epiphany of Our Lord Church,Monessen. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by the Rhome Funeral Home Inc.
