Obituary

Oren Vincent Foor,86,of Irons Street,Gibsonton,died Monday,Dec.20,2000,in Mon Valley Hospital. He was born Jan.24,1914,a son of the late Seibert and Rockie Clapper Foor. He attended the Monessen Congregation of the Jehovah's Witnesses. He retired in 1979 as a shovel operator at the Gibsonton yard of Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel Corp.after 45 years of service. Survivors include three sons and daughters-in-law,Monte L.and Jinny (McCleary) Foor of York,Dennis C.,and Lana (Yetchyshyn) Foor,Darrell L.and Susan (Shearer) Foor,all of Belle Vernon,six grandchildren,Derin S.Foor of Amhurst,Va.,Kristin L.Vanderbilt of Atlanta,Todd D.Foor of Phoenix,Ariz.,Alexa,Brooke and Brandon C.Foor of Belle Vernon and six great-grandchildren,Justy Lee and Alex Tyanna Foor of Phoenix,Ashleigh and Hailey Foor of Amhurst,Va.,and Logan and Peyton Vanderbilt of Atlanta,three sisters,Mrs.Lou Kairns of Everett,Mrs.Mildred Holt of Valrico,Fla.,and Mrs.Myrtle Varner of Huntsburgh,Ohio. In addition to his parents,he was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years,IdaBell V.Lewis Foor,on Sept.1,1990,a son,Gerald Foor of Chicago,two brothers,Maynard Foor of Belle Vernon,and Lester Foor of Everett,and two sisters,Winona Pockman of Jacksonville,Fla.,and Violet Weist of Graceville,Pa. Friends will be received Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME INC.,700 Broad Ave.,Belle Vernon,where funeral services will be held on Friday at 11 a.m.,with Mr.Fred Sementa,nephew of Mr.Foor,officiating. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The family suggests memorial contributions to the Jehovah's Witnesses Relief Fund,in care of any local Jehovah's Witnesses congregation.
