Obituary

Ora Jean Rousseau, age 82, of Mount Vernon passed away Monday, November 12, 2012 at the Emeritus at HillenVale. Ms. Rousseau was born March 5, 1930 in Belle Vernon, PA to the late Harry N. and Rose H. (Wehry) Rousseau, and had lived in Mount Vernon since 1950. She was a former music teacher having taught in Licking, Knox, Morrow and Coshocton Counties for thirty and a half years. She was a graduate of Duquesne University in Pittsburgh and did graduate work at The Ohio State University. She was a life member of the Ohio and Knox County Retired Teachers’ Associations. She was a member of Business and Professional Women’s Club, American Association of University Women, College Women’s Club, Beethoven Club, American Theatre Organ Society, and the Virgil Fox Society. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church since 1950. Ms. Rousseau is survived by her brother William “Bill” Rousseau of Mount Vernon, four nieces, Pamela (Dr. Charles) Katzenberg of Tucson, AZ, Deborah Brown of Mount Vernon, Sandra Daubenmier of Mount Vernon, Kimberly (Joseph) Pointer of Streetsboro, Ohio, her nephew Gregory (Vicky) Rousseau of Morgantown, WV, five great nieces, six great nephews, three great-great nieces and three great-great nephews. Friends may call on Thursday, November 15, 2012 from 2 – 4 PM at the Flowers-Snyder Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held on Friday, at Belle Vernon Cemetery in Pennsylvania, beginning at 12 PM. Memorial contributions can be made in Ora Jean Rousseau’s name to a charity of your choice. The Flowers-Snyder Funeral Home is honored to serve the family of Ora Jean Rousseau.
