Obituary
Olive Reitz of Belle Vernon R.D.3 died Tuesday, Oct. 25,1983 at 7:30 p.m. at Frick Community Hosptial, Mount Pleasant. She was 96. Born in Kane,Pa.,on June 6,1887,she was the daughter of the late Henry and Mary Crawford Hurd. Mrs. Reitz had resided in Belle Vernon for over the past 60 years. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Belle Vernon and the Martha Circle and United Methodist Women organizations of the church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Walter; a daughter, Mary Fields and a son,Howard Reitz. Her grandson, Walter T. Fields of Wilton Manor, Fla.,survives. Friends are being received on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Shelby D. Ferguson Funeral Home,700 Broad Ave.,Belle Vernon,where funeral srevices will be held Friday,Oct. 28,at 1 p.m. The Rev. Thomas F. St. Clair,pastor of the First United Methodist Church of Belle Vernon,will officiate. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemtery. Shelby D. Ferguson,funeral director,is in charge of arrangements.
