Obituary

Odell Windom, 81, of Monessen, departed this life on Sunday, Dec. 30, 2007, at her home with her family by her side. Born April 23, 1926, in Gainesville, she was a daughter of the late Herbert and Wilda Windom. She leaves to cherish her memory one daughter, the Rev. Wilda (Thomas) Farmer, of Wilmerding, three sisters, Betty Jenkins, of Chicago, Ill., Alice (Elvis) Freeman, of Passaic, N.J., and Margaret Dottie Scott-Arnett, of Brownsville, six grandchildren, Norronda (Edgar) Jones, Jacquelyn Windom-Gunnell, with whom she lived, both of Monessen, Aaron (LaToya) Windom, of Houston, Texas, Jacqueline Williams, of New Orleans, La., Thomas Farmer Jr., of Los Angeles, Calif., and Pamela Farmer, of Pittsburgh, seven great-grandchildren, and six great-great-grandchildren, three nephews, whom she helped raised, William Scott and Nathaniel and Charles Mosley, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by six brothers, Wilmer, Herbert, James, John, Floyd and Edward Windom, three sisters, Marie Gates, Earstie Keith and Bernice Windom, and one granddaughter, LaTanya Marie Windom. Family and friends will be received Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. in the BEVERLY C. DRAPER FUNERAL HOME INC., 608 Sixth St., Monessen (724-684-6242). Funeral services will be held Friday, Jan. 4, at 11 a.m. in Union-Fellowship Baptist Church, 916 Knox Ave., Monessen, with the Rev. Ricardo V. Hall officiating. Interment will take place in Belle Vernon Cemetery. .
