Norman S. "Curly" Huscroft, 93, of Belle Vernon, passed away on Tuesday, March 3, 2015, in Monongahela Valley Hospital. A son of the late John and Barbara Sterling Huscroft, he was born in England on Jan. 28, 1922. Norman, who was referred to by many as "quite a character" was a lifelong resident of Belle Vernon. He worked for 32 years at Page Steel and Wire, was an electrician at Mar Electric for two years, changed in his career and served as a dispatcher for the Rostraver Police Department for two years, then for 10 years, he worked in the maintenance department at the Belle Vernon Area School District, finally retiring in 1988. Survivors include two sons and one daughter in law, Scott and Peggy Huscroft and Gregg Huscroft and his friend, Beth Ann Coccari; one granddaughter, Renee Horne and her husband, Travis, all of Belle Vernon; two great-grandchildren, Raelyn and Alayna Horne; a sister-in-law, Cleo Amato of Monongahela; and his beloved cat "Kitty". In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 72 years, Sarafene M. Huscroft, who passed away on Sept. 7, 2014; and his beloved and faithful dog "Butchie". Friends will be received from 6 to 9 p.m. on Friday in the FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY INC., 700 Broad Ave., Belle Vernon, 724-929-5300,www.FergusonFuneralHomeAndCrematory.com. Funeral services will be in the funeral home Saturday at 10 a.m. with the Rev. James Mimidis officiating. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
