Nora Mae McCarthy White of 313 Johnson Ave.,Belle Vernon,died Sunday,Feb. 20,1983 at 12:10 p.m. in her home. She was 86. Mrs. White was born May 10,1896,in Charleroi,a daughter of the late John and Sara Elizabeth Wood McCarthy. She was preceded in death by her husband, William White Sr.,in 1951;by two sons,James and John White;by two daughters,Violet Roberts and Elizabeth White;by one brother, James McCarthy and by one sister, Frances Hess. Mrs. White was a member of the Pricedale Union Church where she had taught the Lydia Sunday School Class for Elderly Ladies. She was a lifelong resident of the Belle Vernon area,and was also a member of the Golden Agers Clubs of Belle Vernon,Charleroi and Monessen. Surviving are one son,William White Jr. of Belle Vernon;two daughters, Mrs. Donald (Margaret) Sterner and Mrs. John (JoAnn) Rice,both of Belle Vernon;five grandchildren;four great-grandchildren and two nieces. Friends will be received at the Leonard J. Parzynski Funeral Home,626 Broad Ave.,Belle Vernon,Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Services will be held Wednesday at 1 p.m. in the funeral home,with the Rev. Charles Colas,pastor,First Baptist Church,Belle Vernon,officiating. Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The Leonard J. Parzynski Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
