Nick (Pap-Pap) Pozum of the Belle Vernon Apartments died Monday;May 20;1985;at 4:30 p.m. at his home following a lengthy illness. He was 67. Born in Washington Township;Fayette County;Oct.25;1917;he was a son of the late Jacob and Anna Slotta Pozum. Mr.Pozum was a member of St.Sebastian Roman Catholic Church;Belle Vernon. He belonged to the U.M.W.of A.L.U.;Gateway Mine in Greene County and was a retired coal miner. Mr.Pozum had years of dedication to the Tamburitzans with a great deal of participation in the Blue Danube Orchestra. Surviving are his wife;Margaret Shimko Pozum of Belle Vernon;a son;Terry Pozum of Clarksville;Pa.;five daughters;Mrs.James (Mary Ann) Bricker of Cuyhoga Falls;Ohio;Mrs.Darlene Sowden and Mrs.Gerald (Carole) Gardner;both of Belle Vernon;Mrs.Larry (Paulette) Pohovich of Carmichaels and Mrs.Michael (Andrea) Pohlot of Fayette City;nine grandchildren;two great-grandchildren;a brother;James Pozum of Belle Vernon and a sister;Mrs.Anna Shelleby of Pittsburgh. Private viewing for family members will be held on Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m.at the Howard W.McCrory Funeral Home;Fayette City;where a church vigil will be held on Wednesday at 8 p.m. Private funeral services will be held Thursday;May 23;at 10 a.m. at St.Sebastian Roman Catholic Church;Belle Vernon. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The Howard W.McCrory Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
