Nicholas Zabawsky;85;of 143 Homewood Ave.;Belle Vernon;died Tuesday;Nov.23;1971;at 5 p.m.in his home. Mr.Zabawsky was a resident of Belle Vernon for the last 27 years and previously had lived in Donora. He was born in Galicia;Poland;on Dec.6;1885. Mr.Zabawsky retired 15 years ago as a coal miner. He was a member of Holy Resurrection Orthodox Church of Lynnwood. Preceded in death by his wife;Mary;on Oct.1;1971;he is survived by four sons;Wassil of Moravia;N.Y.;Samuel of Belle Vernon;Steve of Houston;Tex.;and Andrew of Charleroi;one daughter;Mrs.Anna Serbak;at home;seven grandchildren;two brothers;Steve Zabawsky of Pittsburgh and Myron of Shamokin;three sisters;Mrs.Katherine Chaweanee of Benld;Ill.;Mrs.Julia Ehnatko of Charleroi and a sister in Poland. Friends will be received at the Shelby D.Ferguson Funeral Home;700 Broad Ave.;Belle Vernon;after 7 p.m.Wednesday and on Thursday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 10 p.m. Parastas services will be held Wednesday and Thursday at 8 p.m. A Blessing service will be held Friday;Nov.26; 1971;at 8:30 a.m.at the funeral home;followed by Divine Liturgy at 9 a.m.in Holy Resurrection Orthodox Church with the Rev.John Kluchko;pastor;officiating.
