Obituary

Nicholas (Nick) Petroka,51,of Fayette City,died suddenly Friday, Oct. 6,1967,at 9 a.m. in Charleroi-Monessen Hosptial. He was employed at the Monessen plant of Pittsburgh Steel Co. and was a member of Holy Trinity Orthodox Church, Charleroi,and Brightwell-Daugherty American Legion Post 484,Fayette City. Mr. Petroka,a veteran of World War II,was born in Fayette City on Dec. 15,1915. Surviving are his father, John Petroka Sr. of Fayette City;three brothers, John Jr. at home,George of Fayette City R.D.1 and Michael of North Charleroi and a sister,Mrs. John (Mary) Daniel of Fayette City R.D.1.  Preceding him in death were a brother,Andrew in 1956 and his mother in 1963. Friends will be received at the Howard W. McCrory Funeral Home,Fayette City.  Prayers there Monday,Oct. 9,at 9 a.m. followed by Requiem service in Holy Trinity Orthodox Church,Charleroi,at 10 a.m. the Rev. Vladimir Soroka,pastor, will officiate.  Interment, Belle Vernon Cemetery,with graveside service conducted by Brightwell Daugherty Post 484, American Legion.  Parastas services at the funeral home Oct. 7 and 8 at 8 p.m. Howard W. McCrory is the funeral director.
