Obituary
Nellie Ray,102,of Charleroi,died Friday,June 5,1998,in the Washington County Health Center, Washington,Pa. She was born March 8,1896,in Crystal City, Mo.,a daughter of the late Herbert and Margaret Ray. She was a member of St. Mary's Episcopal Church of Charleroi and Monongahela Eastern Star No.108. She was a retired secretary for the McKean Realty Co.,Charleroi. She was the last member of her immediate family. In addition to her parents,she was preceded in death by one sister, Bertha Ray Thompson;three brothers,George Edward Ray,Herbert William Ray and Harry Peyton Ray. Friends will be received Sunday from 2 to 6 p.m. in the Schrock-Hogan Funeral Home Inc. 226 Fallowfield Ave.,Charleroi. Miss Ray's body will lie in state Monday from 9:30 a.m. until 10 a.m. when services will be held in St. Mary's Episcopal Church, Sixth Street and Lookout Avenue,Charleroi,with the Rev. Jack Dolan officiating. Burial will be Belle Vernon Cemetery. An Eastern Star service will be held Sunday at 2:30 p.m. in the funeral home. The Schrock-Hogan Funeral Home Inc. is in charge of the arrangements.
