Graveside services will be held Tuesday for Nellie T. Lavik of 831 Cholla Ave.,Barstow,Calif., a former resident of Market St. in Belle Vernon,who died Thursday,April 28,1983. Mrs. Lavik was born May1,1905, in Perryopolis,a daughter of the late Charles and Carrie Chick Tidd. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Belle Vernon, and was a charter member of the Charleroi Council 162 Daughters of America. Mrs. Lavik had lived in California since last August. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband,Joseph S. Lavik,on May 26,1976. Survivors include one son, Charles S. Lavik of Cranston,R.I.;one daughter, Mrs. Donald (Dolores) Osborne of Barstow,Calif; two brothers, Robert Tidd of Belle Vernon and John Tidd of Perryopolis; one sister,Mrs. Jospeh (Virginia) Arrigo of Allenport;three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Services will be held Tuesday,May 3,at 11:30 a.m. at Belle Vernon Cemetery with the Rev. Charles Colas of the First Baptist Church of Belle Vernon officiating. The Shelby D. Ferguson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
