Amother and daughter,both well known in this community were called by the death angel within 25 minutes of each other Tuesday morning, February 27,1923,when Mrs. Matthew Baldwin aged 70 and Mrs.William Grant,aged 37 died at he Baldwin home in North Belle Vernon. Mrs. Baldwin has been ill for some time suffering from a complication of diseases and when her condition became serious the daughter,Mrs.William Grant of Weston,W.Va.,was called to her bedside. She arrived less than a week ago and shortly after her arrival was stricken ill of pneumonia. Mrs. Baldwin grew steadily worse and Tuesday morning at 4:35 quietly passed away and twenty-five minutes later the married daughter succumbed to the attack of pneumonia. Mrs. Baldwin was a life long resident of Belle Vernon and was a favorite among the residents of the community,many of whom knew her only as "Mother". Besides her husband she is survived by by the following children,Mrs.Benjamin Frantz of Manse,Pa.,and Mrs.Elmer Finley,Mrs.J.FRank Kyle,J.Enos,Grover C.,Willian and Irwin Baldwin,all of Belle Vernon. Mrs.Grant is survived by her husband and four children. A double funeral will be held with interment in the family plot in the Belle Vernon Cemetery.
