Obituary

Mrs. Nellie Patton Carlson, aged 59,wife of Charles Carlson, died Wednesday, January 19,1949 at 6 p.m. at her late residence, 908 Knox avenue, after a lingering illness. She had been a resident of Monessen for 38 years and was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church and the following orders: Chapter 205 Eastern Star, No. 9 White Shrine of Monongahela Valley, Dames of Malta, Protectors of Monessen and Volunteer Fireman's Auxiliary of Monessen. Surviving are her husband, and the following children, two daughters, Mrs. Gladys Russell of Monessen, Ella and a son, William, at home and one grandchild. Three brothers and three sisters of Lonaconing, Md., also survive. Friends are being received at the H. Denver Rhome Funeral Home in Monessen until Saturday,Jan.22,1949,when services will be held at 2:00 p.m.in charge of Rev.Calvin E.Hambert. Interment in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
