A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at 11 a.m. Monday,Oct. 29,1984 in St. Jerome Catholic Church,Charleroi,for Nellie Burns, 73,who died Saturday,Oct. 27,1984,at 11:40 a.m. in Mon Valley Hospital,Carroll Twp. Mrs. Burns was born Feb. 28,1911,in Fayette City,a daughter of the late Joseph and Margaret McHenry Gartland. She was a member of St. Jerome's Church, Charleroi. Surviving are two daughters, Lois Bader of Michigan and Mrs. Robert (Vivian) Poynter of New Jersey;one brother,James Gartland,of Ohio;two sisters, Elizabeth Gales of Speers and Leona Cachenour of West Newton and six grandchildren. The Schrock-Hogan Funeral Home,Inc.,226 Fallowfield Ave., Charleroi,was in charge of arrangements.
