Obituary

Nellie A. Gerein, 95, of North Charleroi, died Thursday, Feb. 21, 2002, in the emergency room at Mon Valley Hospital. She was born Sept. 21, 1906, in Forward Township, the daughter of the late Peter and Blanche Polacci Petrucci. She was a member of Mary, Mother of the Church Parish of Charleroi, the Ladies Auxiliary of the Lock 4 Fire Department, and she was formerly a judge of elections for 50 years in North Charleroi. Mrs. Gerein was employed in the gift shop of the former Charleroi-Monessen Hospital. Survivors include one brother, Elio Petrucci of Farmington, Mich., one niece, Sally Kenyon of Lavonia, Mich., three nephews, Ronald Petrucci of Blairsville, Jeff Petrucci of Fallowfield Township, and Harry Jarouse of Belle Vernon, three great-nieces, Jocelyn Hill of Plum Boro, Jaimyn Petrucci of Raleigh, N.C., and Jordan Petrucci of Fallowfield Township, one great-great-niece, Jadyn Hill of Plum Boro, one sister-in-law, Josephine Petrucci of Fallowfield Township. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Armil Gerein, and two brothers, Bruno and Ateo (Babe) Petrucci. Friends will be received in the CARL J. SPALLINO FUNERAL HOME, 819 Fallowfield Ave., Charleroi, Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, Feb. 23, 2002, at 10 a.m. in Mary, Mother of the Church, and interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
