Murel H. Sneed of Charleroi died
Tuesday; Nov 22; 1988; in Mon
Valley Hospital. He was 80.
Mr. Sneed was born July 20; 1908;
in Speers; a son of the late Louis A. and Harriet Hilton Sneed.
He was a member of Christ
Lutheran Church and F&AM Lodge
615; both of Charleroi.
Mr. Sneed was a veteran of World
War II; serving as a technical
sergeant in the U.S. Army’s 1498th
Engineer Foundry.
A graduate of the University of
Pittsburgh with a master’s degree in
education; Mr. Sneed had taught at
the Connely Trade School in Pittsburgh. He had also worked as a job
coordinator for the City of Pittsburgh
School District.
Mr. Sneed was a former Burgess
of the Borough of Speers; and had
also served as a Speers Borough
councilman.
In addition to his parents; he was
preceded in death by his wife;
Lucille Horst Sneed: three brothers
and four sisters.
Survivors include two sisters;
Alma Sneed of Charleroi and
Eleanor Vetter of Fallowfield
Township. Friends will be received Friday
from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the
Schrock-Hogan Funeral Home; Inc.;
226 Fallowfield Ave.; Charleroi;where services will be held Saturday;Nov.26;1988;at 10 a.m.with Pastor James M.Robbins of Christ Lutheran Church;Charleroi;officiating. Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The Schrock-Hogan Funeral Home;Inc.is in charge of arrangements.
