Milford Q.(M Q) Jones;76;of 131 Jean St.;Belle Vernon;died in Mercy Hospital;Saturday;May 5;at 4:55 p.m. He was born in Brownstown July 14;1902;son of the late W.Hartley and Ella Evans Jones. A member of St.Sebastian Church;Belle Vernon;he was also a member of the Belle Vernon Legion Club and was a former president and secretary of the Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Monessen Credit Union. Presently he was a director in that credit union. He was the first president of the Belle Vernon Golden Agers. He retired from the Monessen Plant of Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corp in 1966. Preceding him in death was his first wife;Ruby on June 14;1967. Surviving are his widow;Josephine Sack Jones;two sons;Milford R.of Irwin and Ronald of Richmond;Va.;two stepsons;Edward Carroll of Coral Gables;Fla.and John E.Carroll Sr.of Belle Vernon;two daughters;Mrs.Roland (Irene) Shawley and Mrs.Donald (Ruth) Rosborough;both of Belle Vernon;two sisters;Mrs.Velma Fleming of North Charleroi;Lois Jones of Ft.Lauderdale;Fla.;nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Services were held Tuesday May 8;1979;in St.Sebastian Church with burial in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Shelby D.Ferguson Funeral Home;Belle Vernon;was in charge of arrangements.
