Milford Charles Tansmore;74;of 251 Ninth St.;Char House;Charleroi;died Sunday;April 3;1988;at approximately 4 p.m.in Mon Valley Hospital. He was born Sept.19;1913;in Youngstown;Ohio;a son of the late William and Susie Armstead Tansmore. He was a retired steelworker from the Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Co.;Monessen plant. He had been a resident of Monesen for over 40 years. He was Baptist by faith and a member of the Union Baptist Church;Monessen. In addition to his parents;he was preceded in death by his first wife;Ruth Phillips Tansmore;two brothers;William and Harvey Tansmore;one sister;Amill Tansmore;and one step-brother;Abe Watkins. Survivors include his wife of seven
years; Mintora Tansmore: five sons;
Merrill Tansmore of Gary; Ind.;
Charles Tansmore and Arthur
Tansmore; both of Allentown;
William Tansmore of Monessen and
Edward Tansmore of Philadelphia;
four daughters; Charlotte Tansmore
of Monessen; Harrietta Howard of
Clairton; Geraldine Crable of Allentown and Maxine Tansmore of New
York City; one step-brother; Bob
Watkins of Belle Vernon; two stepsisters; Margaret Watkins and Kate
Watkins; both of Belle Vernon; one
foster sister; Mattie Long of Pittsburgh; one foster daughter; Estelle
Rash of Columbus; Ohio; two step-nieces; two step-grandchildren; five
step-great-grandchildren; 35 grandchildren; 50 great-grandchildren;
and a host of other nieces; nephews
and cousins.
Visitation will be held Tuesday
from 7 to 9 p.m. at the William R.
Taylor Funeral Home and Wednesday from 2 through 9 p.m. at the
Union Baptist Church; McMahon
Avenue; Monessen;where funeral services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m.with the Rev.Leslie Strader;pastor;officiating. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The William R.Taylor Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
