Michael (Mike) Wenick;56;of Charleroi R.D.2;formerly of Brownsville;died suddenly on Saturday May 18;1968;at Eldred;Pa.;while on a fishing trip. He was born in Williamsburg;Pa.;June 15;1911;a son of John and Elsie Feck Wenick. He was a member of St.Nicholas Greek Catholic Church of Brownsville;and the Smithton Sportsmen’s Club;and was employed at the Allenport plant of Pittsburgh Steel Co. He was a veteran of World War II;serving in the Rhineland and Central Europe with the 88th Ordnance Heavy Maintenance Co. He is survived by his widow;Mary Turik Wenick;and the following brothers and sisters;Mrs.Elsie Hartzell of Elizabeth;John Jr.and Mary Wenick of Brownsville;and George Wenick of Belle Vernon;and several nieces and nephews. Another brother;Joseph Wenick;preceded him in death. Friends are being received at the Andrew J.Skirpan Funeral Home;Park Ave.;Brownsville. Prayer service will be held there Tuesday;May 21;at 9 a.m.;followed by Divine Liturgy at St.Nicholas Greek Catholic Church;Brownsville. The Rev.Demetrus Yackarich will be the celebrant;and interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Parastas service will be held at the funeral home Wednesday night at 7 o’clock. Andrew J.Skirpan of Brownsville is the funeral director.
