Mike Turek;59;of Gillespie;Fayette City R.D.1;died Sunday;Aug.16;1970;in Charleroi-Monessen Hospital;after a lengthy illness. Mr.Turek was born in Fayette City;April 5;1911;a son of the late Andrew and Sophie Turek. He was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose;Belle Vernon;treasurer of Belle Vernon Area Midget Football League. He was employed at the Allenport Plant of Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corp. He had 40 years of service with the company. Survivors include his widow;Gladys Hall Turek;two sons;Damon;of Beaver Falls and Robert;with U.S.Air Force;Thailand;two daughters;Mrs.David (Ellesia) Snyder of Belle Vernon and Mrs.Richard (Diann) Brynor;of Tyhron;Iran;fivegrandsons;five sisters;Mrs.Mary Ross;of Fayette City R.D.;Mrs.Helen Mourad;of West Point;Conn.;Mrs.Sophie Sabolek;of Belle Vernon;Mrs.Margaret Applegate and Mrs.Sandy Magruda;both of Charleroi;three brothers;John and Theodore;of Charleroi;Andrew;of Dallas;Tex. Friends are being received at the Howard W.McCrory Funeral Home;Fayette city after 7 p.m.on Monday. Funeral services from the funeral home on Thursday at 2 p.m.with the Rev.Elmer Lewis of Fayette City R.D.1 and the Rev.Bruce Smith of Fayette City officiating.
