Michael Praskavich of 220 Reed Ave.;Monessen;died suddenly on Thursday;May 29;1986;at 1:30 p.m. in Mon Valley Hospital. He was 61. Mr.Praskavich was born Sept.19;1924;in Belle Vernon;a son of the late Wassil and Catherine Yadlosky Praskavich. He had attended the First Presbyterian Church of Belle Vernon. A U.S.Army veteran;he was a member of the Belle Vernon American Legion. Mr.Praskavich retired in 1985 from the coke plant of the Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corporation’s Monessen Plant. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife;Edna Mae Bloom Praskavich;in 1985. Survivors include one daughter;Mrs.Ronald (Diana) Smaracheck of Monessen;two sons;Kevin Koval at home and George Koval of Portland;Ore.;three brothers;John Praskavich of West Newton;Walter Praskavich of Long Branch and Daniel Praskavich of Parma;Ohio;five sisters;Ann Bosetti of Belle Vernon;Eva Mazur of Monessen;Helen Wujick of Connecticut;Nellie Tomko of Belle Vernon and Doris Guth of Hobart;Ind.;and two grandchildren. Friends will be received Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the Shelby D.Ferguson Funeral Home;700 Broad Ave.;Belle Vernon;where services will be held Monday;June 2;at 11 a.m. with the Rev.Charles LaPlaca;pastor of the First Presbyterian Church of Belle Vernon;offciating. Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Shelby D.Ferguson;funeral director;is in charge of arrangements.
