Obituary

Michael P. Semancik Jr.,53,of 411 N. Harvard Ave.,Villa Park, Ill.,died Friday,Oct. 9,1998,at home.  Born March 17,1945,in North Charleroi,he was the son of Michael P. and Julia Bradish Semancik Jr.of Belle Vernon,who survive.  A resident of Villa Park for the past five years,Mr. Semancik previously resided in Wheaton,Ill.  He was a former member of St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church, Belle Vernon.  He served with the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam Conflict.  Mr. Semancik was a member of Belle Vernon Knights of Columbus Council 3026. He was a retired field regional manager for Perkin-Elmer Corp.in Greenwich,Conn.  In addition to his parents,he is survived by a son, Michael Louis Semancik of Belle Vernon;two stepdaughters, Kathy Charon of Plainfield,Ill.,and Gretchen Totzke of Ashton,Ill.;one brother,Robert F. Semancik of Rostraver Township;two sisters,Mrs. Zigfried (Patricia) Troeger of Guatemala City and Mrs. Wayne (Maryann) Davis of Los Angeles,Calif.;and two grandchildren,Michael Louis Semancik Jr.and Jenna Anne Semancik,both of Belle Vernon. Friends will be received Monday from 7 to 9 p.m.and Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.in the Leonard J. Parzynski Funeral Home,626 Broad Ave.,Belle Vernon. A Prayer Service will be held in the funeral home at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday,followed by Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church,Belle Vernon,with the Rev. John R. Cindric,V.F.,pastor,as celebrant.  Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The Legion of Mary ot St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church,Belle Vernon,will recite the Rosary Tuesday at 3 p.m. in the funeral home;Belle Vernon Knights of Columbus Council 3026 will conduct services in the funeral home Tuesday at 7 p.m. Arrangements are being handled by the Leonard J. Parzynski Funeral Home.
