Michael Balaska of 329 Market St.;Belle Vernon;died Saturday;Nov.4;1989;at 1:40 a.m. in Mount Macrina Nursing Home;Uniontown. He was 89. Mr.Balaska was born Nov.22;1899;in Caechoslovakia;a son of the late Andrew and Helen Karas Balaska. He was Lutheran by faith. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers;John Balaska;1985;and Andrew Balaska;1973. Mr.Balaska retired in 1965 from the Monessen plant of the Pittsburgh Steel Co. Survivors include his wife;Amelia Frederick Balaska;one son;Michael J.Balaska of Margate;Fla.;one daughter;Mrs.Ralph (Elaine) Matrozzo of Woodbridge;Va.;and three grandchildren. There will be no public visitation. The Ferguson Funeral Home;700 Broad Ave.;Belle Vernon;is in charge of arrangements.
