Michael Kushner; 94; of Arnold City; passed away Monday; Jan. 27; 2014; in Monongahela Valley Hospital. A son of the late John and Elizabeth Kernag Kushner; he was born in Arnold City on Oct. 27; 1919. Michael was a lifelong resident of Arnold City; worked as a coal miner until his retirement in 1981 and served in the Army during World War II. He was Catholic by faith; a member of AmVets in Uniontown and VFW Gold Star Post in Perryopolis. Survivors include his son; Michael B. Kushner; and granddaughter; Mikhayla Kushner both of Fayette City. In addition to his parents; he was preceded in death by his wife; Margaret Nalevanko Kushner on Aug. 20; 2008. Michael was the last of seven children in his family. Funeral services were held on Friday; Jan. 31; 2014. Arrangements were handled by the FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY INC.; 700 Broad Avenue; Belle Vernon; 724-929-5300; http://www.FergusonFuneralHomeAndCrematory.com. A blessing service was held on Friday. Interment was in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
