Michael Karbowsky;58;of 236 Rostraver Road;Belle Vernon;died Monday;Feb.6;1978;at 10:48 a.m. in Jefferson Center. He was born in Pricedale on Aug.21;1919. Mr.Karbowsky was a millwright at the Monessen plant of Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corp. He was a veteran of service with the U.S.Army during World War II and belonged to Holy Resurrection Orthodox Church of Belle Vernon and the Church Council. He was financial secretary of the church. He was also a member of the Pricedale Citizens Club. His father;Joseph Karbowsky;preceded him in death. Surviving are his widow;Mary Labosh Karbowsky;one son;Michael T.Karbowsky of Donora;three daughters;Mrs.Robert (Susan) Rousseau of Belle Vernon;Mrs.James (Sandra) Gabee of Uniontown and Sylvia Karbowsky;at home;his mother;Mrs.Helen Furtak Karbowsky of Belle Vernon;four brothers;Joseph Karbowsky of Monessen;John Karbowsky of Belle Vernon;William Karbowsky of Smithton and Walter Karbowsky of Belle Vernon;one sister;Dorothy Karbowsky of Belle Vernon;and three grandchildren. Friends will be received at the Shelby D.Ferguson Funeral Home;Belle Vernon;from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday. Parasas Services will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday at 8 p.m. Family and friends will gather at Holy Resurrection Orthodox Church;Belle Vernon;for services at 9 a.m. Thursday. Celebrant will be the Rev.John Kluchko;pastor. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Shelby D.Ferguson is funeral director in charge.
