Michael Chornak;of Belle Vernon;died Wednesday;Jan.7;1981;in Mon Valley Hospital following a lengthy illness. He was 52. Mr.Chornak was born Oct.16;1928;in Monongahela;a son of the late John Chornak and Anna Sidum;who survives and resides in Monongahela. He was an employee of the National Tube Division of U.S.Steel Corporation in McKeesport. Mr.Chornak was a member of the Carroll Township American Legion Post No.949. Survivors;in addition to his mother;are his wife;Cecilia Wozniak Chornak;at home;a son;Michael R.Chornak;of Terra Alla;W.Va.;two daughters;Mrs.Ronald (Beverly) Skira of Belle Vernon; and Michelle Chornak of Pittsburgh;Pa.;two brothers;John;of Finleyville;and Victor;of Monongahela;and two sisters.Mrs.Irene Corneilson of Pleasant Hills;Pa.;and Mrs.Chuck (Margaret) Boyer;of Library;Pa. Friends will be received in the Howard W.McCrory Funeral Home;Fayette City;Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m.and Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Prayer Services will be held Saturday;Jan.10.at 9:30 a.m.in the funeral home;followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m.in the Holy Spirit R.C.Church;Fayette City;with the Rev.Father Thomas G.Rinn;pastor of the church;officiating. Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. A Rosary Service will be held Thursday at 7:30 p.m.in the funeral home. A Parish Wake Service will be held Friday at 8 p.m.in the funeral home. The Howard W.McCrory Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
