Metro Smichnick;926 Brown St.;North Belle Vernon;died Thursday;Sept.4;1980; at 12:43 a.m. in McKeesport Hospital. He was 66. Born Nov.2;1913 in North Belle Vernon;he was the son of the late Samuel and Eva Novak Smichnick. He was a life-long resident of North Belle Vernon. Mr.Smichnick retired in 1968 as an employee in the coke plant of the Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corp.;Monessen Plant. He was Russian Orthodox by faith. Survivors include a daughter;Mrs.Gregory (Linda) Brletich of Fellsburg;two sons;Samuel M.Smichnick of North Belle Vernon and James W.Smichnick of Los Alamitos;Calif.;;three brothers;John and Bill Smichnick;both of Belle Vernon and Joe Smichnick of Monongahela;three sisters;Mrs.Ed (Mary) Donnini of Jeannette and Mrs.Mike (Ann) Mongelluzzo and Mrs.Sirio (Jewell) Sasselli;both of Donora;four grandchildren;Suzanne and Jessica Smichnick and Gregory and Barbara Brletich;and a number of nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents;he was preceded in death by a brother;Mike;in 1979. Friends will be received in the Leonard J.Parzynski Funeral Home;626 Broad Ave.;Belle Vernon;from 7 to 9 p.m. on Thursday and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. on Friday. A blessing service will be held Saturday at 9 a.m. at the funeral home;with the Rev.John Kluchko;pastor of the Holy Resurrection Orthodox Church;Belle Vernon. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Leonard J.Parzynski;funeral director;is in charge of arrangements.
