Merle (Cuddy) Farquhar;66;of Brownstown;Fayette City R.D.1;died Friday;April 13;1973;at 9:45 p.m. at the Charleroi Division of Mon Valley Hospital. Born Feb.17;1907;in Fayette City;he was a son of the late Alonzo and Mary Arison Farquhar. Mr.Farquhar was a retired employee of the Allenport Plant of Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corp. He was a member of the Fayette City United Methodist Church. Surviving are his widow;Margaret Moody Farquhar;one son;Merle Jr.of Fayette City;three daughters;Mrs.Betty Stewart and Mrs.Nancy Williamson;both of Fayette City;and Mrs.Rita Farquhar of Fairhope;three brothers;Stanton of Belle Vernon;Averill of Allenport and Athel of Speers;two sisters;Mrs.Eula McKinley of Monongahela and Mrs.Iva Culmer of Allenport;11 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Friends will be received after 6 p.m. Saturday at the Howard W.McCrory Funeral Home;Fayette City;where services will be held Monday at 1:30 p.m. with the Rev.Fred G.Gnatuk;pastor of the Fayette City United Presbyterian Church;officiating.
