Merie T. Helzlsouer of 56 Schoonmaker Ave.,Monessen,died Thursday,April 26,1990,in Mon Valley Hospital. She was 87. Miss Helzlsouer was born Dec. 26,1902,in Monessen,a daughter of the late Joseph and Mary Presky Helzlsouer. A lifelong resident of Monessen,she was retired from Potter McCune Company, McKeesport. Miss Helzlsouer was a member of St. Leonard Roman Catholic Church,Monessen,and the Ladies Guild of the church. She was also a member of Court 776 Catholic Daughters of America and Monessen AARP. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a sister, Mathilda Helzlsouer and two brothers, William E. Helzlsouer Sr. and Joseph Helzlsouer. Survivors include one niece,Mrs. Donald (Carolyn) Clegg of Greensburg;a nephew,William E. Helzlsouer Jr. of West Mifflin and two great-nephews. Friends will be received Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the Robert A. Billick Funeral Home,Grand Boulevard and Marion Avenue, Monessen,where a Blessing service will be held Saturday at 9:30 am.,followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Leonard R.C.Church,Monessen,with the Rev. John Euker as celebrant. Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The Robert A. Billick Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
