Obituary

Mercy V. Green, 79, of Belle Vernon, died Thursday, May 17, 2007, in Mon Valley Hospital. A daughter of the late Alex and Edith White Braddock, she was born Oct. 10, 1927. A lifelong Belle Vernon resident, Mercy was a member of the Belle Vernon Church of the Nazarene and retired from the former Charland Sewing Factory. Survivors include her husband of 63 years, Eugene R. Green, one son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Marianne Green, of Pittsburgh, one daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Vernon Smith, of Belle Vernon, four grandchildren, Paul Green, Vernon Smith and wife Stacey, Melissa McGee and husband Andrew, and David Smith, five great-grandchildren, Justin, Tanner and Hailey Smith and Eilis and Aine McGee, two brothers, Jack Braddock, of Belle Vernon, and Vaughn Braddock, of West Brownsville, one sister, Helen McCormick, of Morgantown, W.Va., three sisters-in-law, Beverly Glover, Betty Jackson and Margaret Whaley, and one brother-in-law, Paul Green. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four sisters, Emily Tylosky, Elsie Tintori, Mildred Waiton and Mary Riskey. Friends will be received Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME INC. and CREMATION SERVICE, www.fergusonfuneralhomeandcrematory.com, a Golden Rule Member Firm, 700 Broad Ave., Belle Vernon (724-929-5300). Funeral services will be in the funeral home on Saturday, May 19 at 10 a.m. with the Rev. J.E. Mitchell officiating. Entombment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
