Obituary

Pvt.Melvin Lee Moats,23,of Cook Street Extension,Fayette City,died in Korea,November 30,1950. He was serving with the United States Army in Korea and was reported missing in action. His body had been found in a cemetery in former communist-held territory. He was born in Jefferson Township July 21,1928,a son of Mr.and Mrs.Wesley Moats. He was a member of the Fayette City Christian Church. He was a brother of James and Mrs.Philip Karcesky of Fayette City,Mrs.Thomas Matty of Star Junction and Paul and Thelma at home.His body is being returned to Fayette City,and friends will be received at the McCrory Funeral Home after 11 a.m. Thursday,June 30. Services will be held there Saturday,July 2,1955,at 2 p.m.,in charge of Rev.John Bowers,of the Fayette City Christian Church,and interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Full military rites will be conducted by Brightwell Daughtery Post 484,American Legion,Fayette City. George M.McCrory and Son are the funeral directors.
