Melvin L. Greene of 533 Main St.;
Belle Vernon; died Thursday; July 5;
1984; at 7:33 a.m. in Mon Valley
Hospital; Carroll Twp. He was 67.
Mr. Greene was born July 26;1916; in
Belle Vernon; a son of the late Harry
and Sarah Lytle Greene.
He retired in 1978 from employment
with the Bethem Machine Shop in Belle
Vernon.
Mr. Greene was a lifelong resident of
the Belle Vernon area and was a U.S.
Army veteran of World War II.
Surviving are three brothers; Robert
Greene of Okamulgee; Okla.; Dalton
Greene of Belle Vernon; and George
Greene of Charleroi; three sisters; Mrs.
Fred (Dorothy) Liebl; Mrs. Michael
(Marge) Pello and Miss Jean Greene;
all of Belle Vernon; and four friends;
Juanita; Nancy and Barbara Stinogle
and Joyce Livingstone; all of Belle Vernon.
Friends will be received in the Shelby
D. Ferguson Funeral Home; 700 Broad
Ave.; Belle Vernon; Thursday from 7 to
9 p.m. and Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Services will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. in the funeral home. Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The Shelby D. Ferguson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
