Melvin Johnson,52,was found dead in his home at 1430 Schoonmaker Ave.,Monessen, Friday night March 1,1963 about 10:30 p.m. by police. He died of natural causes. Police were called to Mr. Johnson's apartment when friends reported he did not respond to calls. Mr. Johnson had been ill for several days. He was born in Culpeper,Va.,Oct. 1,1911,and had resided in Monessen for the past 30 years. He is survived by one brother, Bernest Johnson of Pittsburgh; two sisters,Mrs. Grace Brown with whom he made his home,and Mrs. Corrine Davis of Monessen. Friends will be received at the Beverly C. Draper Funeral Home,Monessen.
