Obituary

Rev. Maybelle Brown Johnston, 89, of Belle Vernon, died Saturday, Aug. 19, 2006, in The Uniontown Hospital. Born in Donora on July 16, 1917, she was the daughter of the late William and Marybelle Beadling Brown. Rev. Johnston was a retired Methodist minister, having pastored at churches in Tarrs, Dunbar and Washington, Pa. She was a member of Fells United Methodist Church in Rostraver Township and the Good Samaritan Class of the church. She is survived by her daughter, Rebecca Johnston, of Belle Vernon, a stepdaughter, Marilyn Greenway, of Murrysville, a brother, Clarence Brown, of Fellsburg (Rostraver Township), four sisters, Ovada Barbai, of Uniontown, Audrey Clingerman, of Monessen, Shirley Osborne, of Florida, and Olive Sarber, of Ohio. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lou Johnston, and a brother, David Brown. Friends will be received Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the JAMES C. Family and friends are asked to meet at Fells United Methodist Church, Rostraver Township on Wednesday, Aug. 23, at 11 a.m. for a Funeral Service with the Rev. Scott Berkley officiating. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery, Rostraver Township.
