Maurice H.Mathieu;Sr.;of 500 Third St.;Monessen;died Thursday;March 11;1982 at 8 p.m. in Presbyterian University Hospital;Pittsburgh. He was 72. Mr.Mathieu was born April 28;1909 in France;a son of the late Hypolete and Victoria Rieu Mathieu. A resident of Monessen since 1913;he was a member of St.Cajetan Church. Mr.Mathieu retired in 1965 from Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel’s Monessen Plant;Coke Plant Division. He was also a member of the Mon Valley Association of Retired Steelworkers. Survivors include his widow;Angeline Delamalva Mathieu;three sons;Maurice Jr.of Bentleyville;Donald of Charleroi and Rene Sr.of Monessen;six grandchildren;two great-grandchildren;and one brother;Alphonse of Monessen. Friends will be received in the Raymond D.Dalfonso Funeral Home;441 Reed Ave.;Monessen;on Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A Blessing Service will be held on Monday;March 15;at 9:30 a.m.in the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St.Cajetan Church with the Rev. P.Lino Ramellini as celebrant. Burial will be in Belle vernon cemetery. A Parish Rosary will be recited in the funeral home on Sunday at 3 p.m. The Raymond D.Dalfonso Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
