Maureen Cavanaugh Backos of Belle Vernon; died Friday;Oct.31;1980;at 12:45 a.m.in Uniontown Hospital. She was 40. She was a member of St.Sebastian Roman Catholic Church in Belle Vernon. She was retired as a self-employed beautician. She was preceded in death by her father;William Cavanaugh. She is survived by two sons;John E.Seman Jr.of Perryopolis R.D.1 and Greg Seman of Coal Center R.D.1;two daughters;Mrs.Edward (Kim) Forsythe and Miss Karey Backos;both of Belle Vernon;her mother;Ethel Smarelli;and her stepfather;George Smarelli;both of Monessen;and a sister;Mrs.George (Diane) Trenk of Belle Vernon. Friends will be received Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.at the Shelby D.Ferguson Funeral Home;700 Broad Ave.;Belle Vernon. Prayer Service will be held at the funeral home Monday at 9:30 a.m.;followed at 10 a.m.by Mass of Christian Burial at St.Sebastian Roman Catholic Church;Belle Vernon.
