Obituary

Mrs. Mary Jane Schum,wife of Christian Schum,of Donner avenue,died at her home Wednesday morning at 6:15 o'clock.  Death was due to blood poisoning. Her illness was of about three week's duration,starting with a small skin eruption on the neck,developing a carbuncle and later blood poison. Deceased was 44 years of age.  She was born in Johnstown,Pa.June 27,1863 and was a daughter of Mr.and Mrs. Samuel Harvey,both now deceased. To a large number of friends the death of Mrs. Schum will come as a shock and be keenly regretted. Her disposition was such that she was esteemed and respected by those who knew her and she ever proved a loving and kind mother and wife,and a kind and helpful neighbor. She was a faithful attendent of the United Brethern Church. Besides her husband,six children survive. They are Samuel,of Belle Vernon,Mrs. L.L. Reeves,of Monessen,and James,William,Florence and Agnes at home. Two brothers also survive. They are Samuel Harvey,of Carnegie,and George,of Wilkinsburg. The funeral service will take place Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the late home.  Rev. J.Bruff Rittgers and J.M. Jamieson will officiate.  Interment will be made in Belle Vernon Cemetery.  Special street cars for friends will leave the house for Belle Vernon at 3:30 o'clock.
