Mrs. Mary Jane Fohner,98,of 40 Stracke Ave., Monessen,died Saturday,July 14,1979,at South Hills Convalescent Center after a long illness. A native of England,she resided in Monessen most of her life. She was preceded in death by her husband,James L.,in 1942,and by a son,Harry, in 1979. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Monessen. Surviving are five daughters, Mrs. Stella M. Howard of Belle Vernon,and Mrs. Margaret Yohe,Mrs. Alice Stofan,Mrs. Mildred Fechter and Mrs. Doris Wanko,all of Barberton;three sons,George of Escondido,Calif.,and James and Edward,both of Monessen;three sisters,Mrs. Phyllis McCracken of Charleroi,Mrs. Margaret Shoemaker of Cuyahoga Falls,Ohio,and Mrs. Bertha Pritchard of Stockdale;13 grandchildren,29 great-grandchildren,and nine great-great-grandchildren. Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Rhome Funeral Home,with Rev. Joseph Rial officiating. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
