Obituary

Mary Elizabeth Cooper, aged 21 years, only child of Mr.and Mrs. Thomas Cooper, died Tuesday afternoon,May 17,1932 at 1:30 o'clock at the family home in Schoonmaker avenue, following a lingering illness. She was. born and reared in Monessen, having been graduated from the Monessen public schools, with the class of 1927 and three years later from the California State Teachers' college at California. It was while attending college, that she became afflicted with her final illness, which she overcame to some extent and for several months held a position as teacher in the Monessen public schools,when the illness again made its appearance.  She was given every possible care and attention but steadily grew worse until the end came.  Her passing is doubly mourned because of her youth and her tenacity to cling to life.  Miss Cooper was a reader of considerable ability and has appeared before the Monessen public on numerous occasions.  The body has been removed to the home of Miss Cooper's aunt,Miss Emma Brandes at 173 Schoonmaker avenue,where funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock,conducted by Rev.L.S.Eliott,pastor of the M.E.Church.  Interment will be made in the Belle Vernon Cemetery.
