Obituary

Mary Ann Pushkar Melanowski, 82, of Belle Vernon, Rostraver Township, died Thursday, April 4, 2013, at 1:14 p.m. at Monongahela Valley Hospital, Monongahela. Born April 27, 1930, in Monessen, she was the daughter of the late John S. and Anna Vargo Pushkar. A lifelong resident of Rostraver Township, Mrs. Melanowski was a member of St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church, a retired wares inspector from Corning Glass of Charleroi, a former Bell Telephone operator in North Belle Vernon and was a member of the First Catholic Slovak Ladies Auxiliary. She is survived by her husband, Walter J. Melanowski, to whom she was married 62 years, two sons and daughter-in-law, Greg Melanowski, at home, Gary and Andrea Melan of Rostraver Township, daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Bill Smith of Rostraver Township, four grandchildren, Stasia and Nathan Hubbell of Phoenix, Ariz., Chad and Lindsey Smith of Murrysville, Garrett and Shelby Melan of Morgantown, W.Va., Gavin Melan of Rostraver Township, and three great-grandchildren, Isabella Hubbell, Nolan Hubbell and Charlie Smith. She was preceded in death by a brother, John Leonard Pushkar. Visitation will be held 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the PARZYNSKI FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATIONS, Family Owned and Operated, 626 Broad Ave., Belle Vernon, 724-929-6183. Prayer service will be held 9:30 a.m. Monday in the funeral home followed by 10 a.m. funeral Mass at St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church with the Rev. Msgr. Roger A. Statnick, pastor, as celebrant. Interment will take place in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Members of St. Sebastian parish will pray the Rosary for the departed soul of Mary Ann 3 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home.
